Hyundai Celesta Launched On The Guangzhou Auto Show In China

The Hyundai Celesta has been unveiled on the Guangzhou Auto Show in southern China. The Celesta is a sharp looking compact sedan, but it is not entirely new.

It is based on and replaces the Hyundai Elantra Yuedong, which was a continuation of the fourth-generation Hyundai Elantra. Production of the fourth-gen Elantra in South Korea ended in 2010, but continued in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.

2017 Hyundai Elantra launched on the Chinese auto market

The new 2017 Hyundai Elantra has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 99.800 yuan and ends at 151.800 yuan. The Chinese Elantra is basically the same car as the 2017 North American Elantra. In China it is called ‘Elantra Lingdong’ to differ it from the three (03) older generations Elantra’s that are still in production in China.

Patent Applied: Hyundai Elantra Coupe to come to China

Hyundai has applied for patent on the Hyundai Elantra Coupe for China, meaning the Elantra Coupe will hit the Chinese auto market soon. The Elantra Coupe will be imported into China, the market for coupes is still too small for local production. The new Hyundai Elantra Landong has been launched on the China auto market, price starts at 105.800 yuan and ends at 149.800 yuan. The new Elantra is called ‘Elantra Landong’ in China  to differ this new car with two older Elantra’s that are still in production in China. All Elantra’s are made by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture. The Elantra Landong debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

Hyundai will make a stretched Elantra for the Chinese car market

Hyundai as made steady progress in China in recent years by courting consumers on reliability and price. Now it’s betting that a new factory and an updated version of its top-selling model will give it the edge it needs to further boost sales of both small cars and more expensive — and more profitable — vehicles.

Hyundai this month will open the 6.5 billion yuan ($1 billion) Beijing plant, where it plans to produce Elantra sedans that are slightly longer and taller than the current model in a bow to the Chinese penchant for space and spice in cars.

Hyundai Elantra China still driving after accident

Here we have a Hyundai Elantra riding the Jingkai Highway in Beijing. The car seems damaged to the max but is somehow still working. Not bad… The Elantra is made in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture, price starts around 80.000 yuan. This one is worth, well, I guess you can still sell it in the countryside for some 5.000.
