The Geely Borui has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 119.800 yuan and ends at 229.800 yuan ($19.300 – 37.020). And yes you read that right, it is the ‘Borui’, not the ‘Borui GC9’. The GC9 designation has been dropped completely, a rather late decision apparently, as the cars we saw in December still had a GC9 badge.

This stylishly grilled Geely Borui GC9 will be launched on the Chinese car market on April 9, or so Chinese media say. However, the Geely Borui GC9 Limited Edition launch edition, which was promised us for March 16, hasn’t materialized yet, so we got to be a bit careful here.

This is the delicately grilled Geely Borui GC9 Limited Edition, ready for its launch on the Chinese car market on March 16. The Geely Borui GC9 Limited Edition is basically a special launch-edition of the regular Borui GC9, which is now scheduled for launch in late April. The Limited Edition is limited to 1000 cars.

This is the brand new Geely Borui GC9 sedan, a fine looking vehicle formerly known as the Geely Emgrand EC9 sedan. ‘Borui’, (博瑞) , best translated as ‘Brilliant’. The Emgrand brand is now gone but the Emgrand logo is not, it will eventually be used on all Geely-branded cars.
