A lightly camouflaged Buick Excelle sedan, seen on the bed of a truck on a highway near Shanghai by reader & master spy Chiprdan, thank you for the picture! What GM is hiding is yet unclear. The Buick Excelle received a facelift in February so another facelift seems unlikely. Earlier spy shots pointed at the possibility of a new engine.

A heavily camouflaged Buick Excelle testing in China, seen near Shanghai by reader Chiprdan, thank you for the pictures! What Buick is testing here is not entirely clear. The Buick Excelle received a facelift in February so another facelift seems unlikely. Interestingly the bonnet is made slightly higher just above the grille, working as an extra air intake. Is Buick testing a new and more powerful engine for the Excelle?

The facelifted Buick Excelle has been launched on the China car market, price starts at 96.900 yuan and ends at 118.900 yuan. The facelifted Excelle was expected to debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November last year but didn’t show, GM decided for a private party instead. The facelift is a rather minimal affair, including small changes on the head lights, grille, bumpers and rear lights. Read more »

A very interesting spy shot, shot by reader Chiprdan near the Shanghai-GM factories Shanghai. GM is very busy lately, updating its complete China line-up, but we never seen two new cars in the same picture before. Let’s have a closer look at both automobiles.

After seeing a zillion of camouflaged cars we finally have the first spy shots of an all-naked facelifted Buick Excelle, and we are disappointed. The facelifted Ecxelle loox basically the same as the current car except for a slightly different grille and a new bumper.
What indeed, was all the fuzz about? The so called ‘facelifted’ Buick Excelle will debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show later this month, but we will skip the party. Compare:

Another day, another lowrider, this is going to be a new trend in China! Here we have a very low Buick Excelle XT, seen on a local tuning show in Beijing. The automachine sits very low to the road, is painted in tasteful piano-black and stands on very fat tires with shiny 5-spoke alloys. Note green Buick Regal on the left, that’s an old friend…

The best spy shots so far of the facelifted Buick Excelle which will be launched on the Chinese auto market late this year, debut is expected for the Guangzhou Auto Show in November. New spy shots give a good view of the rear with a rather funky boot lit.

A very flashy Buick Excelle XT, seen parked on a bicycle lane (bad car!) in Beijing. The Excelle XT is made more pretty with a matte orange wrap, matte black alloys, a matte-blacked Buick logo on the grille and matte black mirrors. Me think it is a fine combination of colors.

The good old Daewoo-based Buick Excelle is still a hot seller in China with average monthly sales hovering around 20.000 cars. No wonder General Motors wants to keep the Excelle alive a little bit longer. The facelifted car will debut later this year, and comes with a new front and some new thingies at the back. Interior will remain basically the same.

GM is working on a facelift for the Buick Excelle, the updated car will debut later this year. The facelift includes a bigger grill, new bumpers and new lights. The Deawoo-based Excelle is still a best-seller in China among those who prefer a cheap, reliable and no-frills (boring) automobile.
