Chinese press calls the E’Z Yizhi an MPV. Toyota does not, according to the Japanse the E’Z is a FUV. You might wonder, what the fuv is a FUV? I know the fuvving answer, it means ‘Fashionable Utility Vehicle’. Engines: 1.6 and 1.8, mated to a 5 speed manual, a four speed auto or a cvt. Price will start around 140.000 yuan.

Guangzhou Auto Show: Toyota E’Z Yizhi FUV

December 19, 2010 by Tycho de Feijter

A Verso but not in name. Guangzhou-Toyota decided to go for something different: E’Z Yizhe. ‘Yizhi’ means ‘deliver leisure’ in Chinese. E’Z, with the ‘, means nothing. And it is another kind of car as well, not a mini suv or a crosswhatever. No no, it is a FUV.  So, what the f**k means FUV? It means ‘Fashionable Utility Vehicle’. Indeed.

Guangzhou-Toyota decided to unveil the E’Z a day before the start of the Guangzhou Auto Show, they were scared otherwise nobody would have noticed. They are right about the car, nobody would have, but that name…

Engines! No fuvving hybrids here. Fuv, they don’t sell. Old fashioned fuvving patrols, 1.4 and 1.6, mated to a manual, an auto or a CVT. Price starts around 150.000 yuan, to be listed in the first half of 2010. That is the E’Z Yizhi FUV, don’t fuvving forget.
