Fiat Palio thinks it is a BMW X1 in China

Published on May 11, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter

Fiat Palio BMW X1

Here we have a very fine Fiat Palio hatchback, thinking very hard it is a BMW X1. I saw this fuzzy vehicle here in Beijing today in the Sanlitun area, it had a BMW-badge on the bonnet as well which I couldn’t pic because the Palio-X1 just took off in a hurry.

The Fiat Palio was made in China until 2008 by the now dead Nanjing-Fiat joint venture. The Palio however is not dead, it still lives as the Zotye ZH200B. The Fiat Siena sedan, which was also made by Nanjing-Fiat, lives on as the ZH200, and there is even a Dragon Edition available!

Fiat 500C China

One for the girls. The Fiat 500C cabriolet has been listed & priced on the China car market. It is imported and very expensive; price starts at 209.800 yuan and ends at 261.800 yuan and that is ridiculous money for a dressed-up Fiat Panda. One engine only: 1.4 MultiAir with 101 hp, mated to a six-speed tiptronic. The standard 500 hatchback was listed in September last year. Via: Sohu.com.

Fiat 500C testing in China

New spy pics from the Fiat 500C testing in China. The standard Fiat 500 fashion accessory was listed on the Chinese car market late last year. It doesn’t seem to be doing very well, I haven’t seen a single one so far. Maybe the fact that Fiat has less than a 100 dealers in China got something to do with that. Or the price maybe, which ranges from 170.000 yuan up until 230.000 yuan. Ridiculous. You can but a locally made Honda CR-V for that, top spec!
