Patent Applied: Geely GLEagle GC3

Geely’s sub brand GLEagle (aka Global Hawk) will bring a new small size sedan on the market called GC3. It is based on the Geely Kingkong-2 but more luxurious and with a different front and back. Size similar to Kingkong, about 4.2 meters long. Engine will be the same 1.5 with 69kw and 128nm.

The Geely-GLEagle GX2 is a crossthingy based on the Geely-GLEagle Panda. Two engines: a 1.3 with 86hp and a 1.5 with 102hp. Price starts at 51.800 yuan and ends at 68.500 yuan. Size: 3815x1648x1530, wheelbase 2340. The GX2 is meant for cool 25-35 year olds who like to pretent they go to the mountains somethimes. Some more pics:

Geely set up a flagship store on the populair e-commerce website Taobao. Taobao is eBay and Amazon together, its 300 million registred users can buy basically everything, brandnew and secondhand, from simple pencils to computers and now cars. Second-hand cars were already available trough Taobao but it is for the first time that a manufacturer sets up its own shop.
First up is the Geely-GLEagle Panda but more cars will follow if sales are good. Prices are exactly the same as prices at the dealer. Geely thinks buyers will feel more comfortable if they can spec the car up at home, instead of going to find a dealer in a windy suburb. Customers can buy directly but can also make an appointment with for a test-drive. After-sales and service will remain with local dealers.

The Geely GLEagle (aka Global Hawk) GC5 is the sedan-version of the Geely Englon SC5-RV. Both cars debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Englon The SC5-RV will be listed in November, the GLEagle GC5 will follow in early 2011.

Geely has applied for patent on two new mpv’s. First up the Emgrand EV7, code named FE-3. The EV7 debuted as a concept on the Beijing Auto Show in April. Size: 4520x1798x1597, wheelbase is 2480.

The Geely-GLEagle GX2 cross is based on the Geely-GLEagle Panda. The GX2 debuted as a concept at the Beijing Auto Show and was very liked cause of its coolness. Geely so didn’t wait long and decided to make it. The GX2 will come with a 1.3 engine and price will start around 60.000 yuan.

The EX7 debuted as a concept on the Beijing Auto Show but was than called Emgrand EX7. The car on these pics however shows a very large GLEagle-logo. Maybe Geely decided the GLEagle-brand fits the EX7 better. The car loox ready for production and will indeed roll off the line before the end of this year, price will start around 150.000 rmb.

Geely’s sub-brand GLEagle broufht this very fine looking sportmachine to the show and HURRAY it was not a hybrid or a plug-in electric. The GS5, ‘GS’ stands for ‘Geely Star’, has a choice of two engines, a 1.3 and a 1.5. This is unusual for a concept car and means production will start soon, Geely states the GS5 will roll off the line from 2012.

Geely brought two small suv to the Beijing Auto Show, the GLEagle GX5 and GP5. It ain’t just a suv mind, it is a ‘YUV’, which stand for ‘Young’s SUV’. The GX5 and GP5 are ‘Small Sized Classic Style YUV’s’. All according to Geely’s press release. Inventing a new class and immediately have a classic, Geely can do. Size: 3813x1762x1670, wheelbase is 2370. Geely lists two engines, a bit unusual for a concept so the G’s might make it into production, we like. Engines a 95kw 1.3 Turbo (!) and a 78.5kw 1.5. The 1.3T has a 6 speed manual. Red car is the GP5.
