the holiday for the Dragon Boat Festival starts tomorrow. We will drive to to the always sunny and always busy seaside town of Beidaihe. We will have beach and beer and lots of weird vehicles with three wheels, which we will show you when we return to the capital on Sunday.
See you soon!

the Chinese New Year holiday has begun today and will continue until the 24th. The Year of the Goat (and/or Sheep) will officially start on Thursday. The whole country is on the move to celebrate and eat. There won’t be much auto news so we take a break as well, but we might do some fuzzy spots and such.
Have a good time, wherever you are, and see you soon.

China celebrates its 65th birthday from 1 to 7 October with the traditional October Holiday. The whole country will be out and on the road visiting famous places and family and friends. We will stay around in Beijing, eating too much fat food and drinking too much cheap beer. Car sales always top during holidays in China but news is usually slow. We will back in full force next Tuesday.
See you all soon!

Hello good Readers,
We are off to the great country of Thailand for beer, beach, and babe. We will live on a remote island without wifi or computing machines, and thus a perfect place to recharge our batteries. We will be back on the 25th, and then we will do a Spotted in China – Thailand Special with fuzzy Thai cars. On pic a tellow Daihatsu Hijet taxi I met in Phuket in ’09.
Take care and see y’all soon!

See you all soon…

We wish you all very Happy Holidays. Let’s think about peace, for a minute, when not thinking about cars. We will update slowly over the next few days but we will be back with full force on Monday.

And the mighty robot on Beijing Tuning Street says: we will be on holiday, flying down to Europe to visit the great countries of Belgium, Holland and England for business and beer. In the meantime, work will start on a complete redesign of the site. We will have larger photos, a better comment section, more social media thingies, and a database.
We will be on the move for about three weeks. Updates will be slow coming, but we are always ready to hit the boards when emergencies occur, such as a Geely spaceship or a Hongqi-based submarine.
See you all soon, take care.

China’s annual October Holiday started yesterday evening and will go on for the whole week. China celebrates the founding of ‘new China’ 63 years ago and at the same time the Mid-Autumn Festival. The country will be on the move, eating and drinking with the family and then back home again. The government has been sweet and made all tollways free for the week. There won’t be much new news until next Friday so we will take it easy as well, but not too easy; we will post extra many stories on strange and beautiful cars, and super hot news that cannot wait will be here. Happy holiday!

Still climbing mountains! Time so for some more strange vehicles. The small three wheelers are dirt cheap, dirty, and dangerous.
But in many villages they are also the only motorized vehicles that can actually go up the mountains and therefore alone those small machines are very important for mountain-village folk.
