Honda Spirior to get a 2.0 in China

Honda will launch a new 2.0 engine for the Spirior, it is currently only available with a 2.4 and Honda wants to have a cheaper entry-level model. The Spirior, from Spirit and Superior, is a China-only Honda based on the Acura TSX.
Honda recalls over 500 Acura cars in China

Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co Ltd will recall some Acura TL vehicles in China due to problems in their steering oil tubes, China’s consumer quality watchdog said Thursday. The recall involves a total of 537 vehicles produced between May 2006 and January 2007, according to a statement by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The Honda Accord will get a small facelift in China. Most changes are up front and at the back. Interesting to see it that the new car will get more chrome yet again, Chinese car buyers still want more bling so Honda has to give. The Accord is made in China by the Guangzhou-Honda joint venture.
Crash Time China: Honda Fit vs Mercedes-Benz G55, Honda wins

Here we have an interesting Crash from China. It happened early this morning on a road not far from the airport in Nanjing. One Honda Fit crashed full into the side of a massive Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG. The Benz is a much heavier vehicle than the tiny Honda, still, the G55 flipped over all da way and landed flat on its roof.
Acura NSX concept in very Red for China

Honda, a Japanese company, wants to please China. So they painted their Acura NSX concept very red for the Beijing Auto Show. We like the result, a lot, the NSX suddenly loox a lot faster indeed.
Honda needs to do this sorta thing because they are pushing the Acura brand in China. Honda is late, Lexus and especially Infiniti are already represented on the Chinese car market and are doing reasonable well, even though they don’t produce locally.
Honda Concept C & Concept S debut at the Beijing Auto Show – Live Pics

The Honda Concept S (pic) and Concept C debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. Both cars were designed by Honda in Japan but the Concept C had a Guangzhou-Honda badge on the back, and the Concept S a Dongfeng-Honda badge. Those are Honda’s two joint-ventures in China, and both cars are intended for the Chinese car market and other upcoming markets in Asia.
Honda wants to Double sales in China

Japanese carmaker Honda Motor Co plans to double sales in China to about 1.2 million vehicles by 2015 through an expanded local lineup and ramped-up production.
The company’s China chief Seiji Kuraishi announced at a recent news conference that Honda will introduce more than 10 new and revamped models to China from 2013 to 2015 to support sales growth.

The very first pictures of the new Honda Elysion MPV, made in China by the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture. It seems almost exactly the same car as the Japanese version. The China-made Elysion will debut later this month at the Beijing Auto Show.
Dongfeng-Honda recalls 460.000 cars in China

Dongfeng-Honda Automobile Co will recall nearly 460,000 multi-purpose passenger cars and sedans due to horn defects, China’s top quality watchdog said Wednesday.
The joint-venture company will start the recall on April 30, according to a statement posted on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
