New spy shots from the Hongqi L7 limousine testing in China, it will be launched on the Chinese auto market later this year, but only for the government, private buyers will only be able to get one in 2013. Power will come from a 6.0 V12 with 400hp and 580nm, and that seems barely enough to move the 3.15 ton L7 forwards any fast.

These are the very first pictures of the interior of the production version of the Hongqi L7, and we are positively impressed. Beautifully crafted, top end materials and completely digital. Especially impressive is the center tunnel with a ‘floating’ layer of wood on top of it.

We have found one new spy shot of the upcoming Hongqi L7 limousine that will have to compete with Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The Hongqi L7 debuted on the Beijing Auto Show in April, the final production version will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013. Power comes from a 6.0 V12 with 400hp and 550nm.
Fuel consumption, stated by FAW, is 20 liters per 100 kilometer! That’s a lot of gas but this Hongqi is a big car: 5555/2018/1748, wheelbase is 3435. Curb weight is a hefty 3.15 ton. This ain’t no car, this is a tank! Reports in Chinese media indicate the Hongqi L7 will be priced around 5 million yuan, or 816.000 USD, and that is slightly cheaper than we heard earlier. Via: Sohu.

The Hongqi L7 debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April, the L7 is the short wheelbase version of the massive CA7600L state-limousine-parade car that debuted at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. Earlier on we heard the Hongqi (Red Flag) L7 would only be available for the government but that doesn’t seem the case exactly. The government however will get it first when ‘delegates’ will be chauffeured around town during the ’18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China’ (wiki) in October. Next year however the L7 will come available for all…

The new Hongqi L7 limousine debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. The Hongqi (Red Flag) L7 is the short wheelbase version of the massive CA7600L state-limousine-parade car that debuted at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. The Hongqi L7 will sadly not be sold to the general public but some hundred will be made to ferry around ‘dignitaries’ during the Communist Party’s congress in October. The real VIP-dignitaries, like president Hu Jintao, will use the CA7600L.
