Spotted in China: a Toyota But it is Not

A very nice Toyota with a golden Toyota-badge. But it ain’t no Toyota oh no. In fact it is a Greatwall Hover, 2006 model, sold as Hafu in China. Buyer can buy those badges at the dealer, so buyer can actually go to the Greatwall dealer and say: “Yes ni hao, I want my Hafu with Toyota-badges please”, the dealer will then stick ‘m up.

Spy Shots: Greatwall Haval M3

A nice looking machine from Greatwall, the M3 mini-suv/crossover/small-mpv/crossthing will hit the market this year, likely to debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. The M3 originally debuted as M3 EV on the Beijing Auto Show in April 2010. The M3 will get a 1.5 litre engine and is just under four meters long. Price will start around 60.000 yuan and end around 90.000 yuan.

Greatwall to Start Assembly in the Philippines

Greatwall Motor and the Philippine National Motor Company agreed on a joint venture to assemble and sell Greatwall vehicles in the Philippines. Annual production will be 10.000 cars. Factory will assemble the Hover SUV and Wingle pick up truck. The cars will start rolling of the line sometime in the second half of 2011.

Another one from Greatwall’s brandnew Hover-brand. This is the M3, codenamed CH071. It will slot right above the coolish M2 that hit la market in March. It loox the same as an M2 in lenght so likely it is made on the same platform and meant for folks who don’t want the M2’s madness.

Beijing Auto Show Preview: Greatwall Hover SC30

The Greatwall-Hover SC30 will debut as a prototype. It is a very luxury suv/crossover meant to compete with machines as the Infinity FX, VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and Volvo XC90. No word on the engine yet.

A spyshott all alone, I got only one, of the new Great Wall H5 meant for the European market. GW’s new Hover will be split in two: a boring H5 and a more exiting H5 CUV. The boring car, which you see above, will try to hit it in Europe from 2011.
