<p>Six-wheeled Hummers <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/2012/03/21/spotted-in-china-six-wheeled-stretched-hummer-h2/" target="_blank">are</a> very <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/2011/12/18/spotted-in-china-6-wheel-hummer-h2-with-a-disco/" target="_blank">popular</a> in <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/2012/01/03/having-the-hummer-washed-in-china/" target="_blank">China</a>. They are also very expensive, which sadly means not everybody can affort one. No matter!, you can always <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/tag/home-made/" target="_blank">make one yourself</a> and a great man from China did just that.</p>
<p><span id="more-25301"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-2.jpg" class="myfancybox"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-25303" title="home-made-hummer-2" src="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-2-458x291.jpg" alt="Home-made Hummer from China" width="458" height="291" /></a></p>
<p>The Hummer is based around a motorcycle engine, power goes the the center-axle. Wheels are from one and a half Chery QQ3. The chassis and body are completely self-designed.This is the second home-made Hummer we see in China, the first one <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/2011/12/11/man-from-china-makes-hummer-for-630-us-dollar/" target="_blank">was a bit smaller</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-3.jpg" class="myfancybox"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-25304" title="home-made-hummer-3" src="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-3-458x304.jpg" alt="Home-made Hummer from China" width="458" height="304" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-4.jpg" class="myfancybox"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-25305" title="home-made-hummer-4" src="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-4-458x325.jpg" alt="Home-made Hummer from China" width="458" height="325" /></a></p>
<p>Dash kept simple. Dials easy to read. Motorcycle breaks on the front and center wheels. Only one seat up front, but a big one it is. Well, the body still needs some work I guess, Chinese media however reports the project is finished like it is now. Either way, a brilliant job done!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-5.jpg" class="myfancybox"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-25306" title="home-made-hummer-5" src="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/home-made-hummer-5-458x392.jpg" alt="Home-made Hummer from China" width="458" height="392" /></a></p>

<p>A very nasty and very black six-wheeled stretched Hummer H2, seen here in the great city of <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=&amp;rlz=1B3GGGL_enCN270CN271&amp;q=hohhot&amp;um=1&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;hq=&amp;hnear=0x3606462a4a60d3e1:0x7f72c427fe44f504,Hohhot,+Inner+Mongolia,+China&amp;ei=5nxpT-P8PI2SiAfwtsG1Cg&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=geocode_result&amp;ct=title&amp;resnum=2&amp;ved=0CEYQ8gEwAQ" target="_blank">Hohhot</a>, capital of Inner Mongolia Province. Tires are extra large as well which likely means this vehicle is used to show tourists the endless grasslands that start right where the city ends. Twin-exhaust piped and standard either and this H2 stands high on its feet. Great machine&#8230;</p>

<p>Look at that blue sky!, that is Inner Mongolia indeed. Here in Beijing today the sky is very polluted again&#8230; Where this Hummer H2 was converted is not sure, there are companies in the US that can do it but since a few years there are also many in China that can do it for much less.</p>
<p>The Hummer H2 is a popular car to customize in China, see some fine examples <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/tag/hummer/" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>

<p>We have <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/2012/01/03/having-the-hummer-washed-in-china/" target="_blank">seen</a> <a href="http://www.carnewschina.com/2011/12/18/spotted-in-china-6-wheel-hummer-h2-with-a-disco/" target="_blank">some</a> 6-wheeled Hummer H2 in China before but this white baby is the first Hummer H2 with eight wheels. It is called the &#8216;Hummer H8&#8242; and offered for 4.48 million yuan or 707.000 US dollar by a dealer in the great city of Tianjin.</p>
<p><span id="more-18145"></span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-18147" title="8-wheel-hummer-china-2" src="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/8-wheel-hummer-china-2-458x305.jpg" alt="8-wheel Hummer H2 in China" width="458" height="305" /></p>
<p>The Hummer H2-H8 is 8.25 meters long and features a full-spec discotheque inside. According to the Tianjin-company it is made by ECB-Limo from the USA, but I can&#8217;t find any 8-wheeled H2 on <a href="http://www.ecblimo.com/165taboo-hummer.php" target="_blank">ECB&#8217;s website</a>.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-18148" title="8-wheel-hummer-china-5" src="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/8-wheel-hummer-china-5.jpg" alt="8-wheel Hummer H2 in China" width="458" height="305" /></p>
<p>Chinese companies often day something &#8216;comes from the US&#8217; while they actually made it in a shed around the corner. This also happens in the business of extending cars which is more and more done locally. This H8 however loox like quality work, maybe it came from ECB after all.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-18149" title="8-wheel-hummer-china-3" src="http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/8-wheel-hummer-china-3-458x305.jpg" alt="8-wheel Hummer H2 in China" width="458" height="305" /></p>

<p>Other features, according to dealer:32 inch TV, 5 camera&#8217;s, an eye-catching navigation screen, a high-profile control panel, a fridge, Kara OK lighting set, massage seats with electric leg care, 20 inch wheels and an intercom system.</p>

<p>In the old days stretched Hummers arrived by boat from US car dealers. That was expensive so nowadays there are many Chinese companies who can do the conversion. Sure the result isn&#8217;t always a very safe car but heck, how fast do these limo&#8217;s go anyway?</p>

<p>A Hummer H2 is expensive in China, an extended six-wheel drive Hummer H2 is even more expensive. Fortunately a car wash is not expensive, at all. A full treatment costs about 20 yuan (3.17 USD) in places like the one on pic, seen in Liangping County, Chongqing Municipality.</p>
<p>Washing goes all by hand, no automatic whatsoever, and usually some three persons are working on your car for about 20 minutes. At least, that is what is takes to wash my Beijing-Jeep, I guess this Hummer will take a little bit longer. <p>Mr. Qu Zhibo from the great city of Zhigong in Hainan province has a dream; to have his own Hummer. He didn&#8217;t sit down and wait for money to fall from heaven. Not at all, indeed.</p>
<p>Instead he built his Hummer himself, completely from scrap, with a small tractor engine that drives the rear wheels. Qu&#8217;s Hummer is 2 meters long and 1.5 meters high. The building process took three long years and 4000 yuan, that is 630 US dollar. Lotta time and a lotta money, but Qu got it. <p>A very big Hummer Limousine in China, used for a no doubt very happy marriage in the great city of Shenyang in Liaoning Province. Want to rent it? Go here: <a href="http://www.xsjqd.com/cn/index.asp" target="_blank">www.xsjqd.com</a>, that&#8217;s the marriage company. Conversion is done in China, there are many companies doing this sort of thing these days. In fact, they can do it for such little money that is is cheaper to ship a standard Hummer from the US to China, do the thing, and ship it back than to do the conversion in the US. There might be some quality issues though&#8230; Anywayz, have a look at the rest of the pics. Smoke ain&#8217;t the Hummer burning, it is fireworx.</p>

<p>August 1 2009 was such a day, China celebrated 60 years communist rule with a military parade and loads of other festivities. To keep the exited crowd in check the police deployed the wonderful 4&#215;4 APC&#8217;s. The crowd loved &#8216;m and was so indeed under control.</p>

<p>August 1 again. These white 6&#215;6 monsters, see gun, are from the &#8216;Snow Leopard Commando&#8217;, another special police force supposed to fight terrorists.</p>
