MG5 Sport Edition arrives at the Shanghai Auto Show

The very first pictures of the new MG5 Sport Edition that will debut later this week on the Shanghai Auto Show. The vehicle was seen during the build-up of the MG booth in the exhibition hall. The MG5 Sport Edition will be powered by a new 135hp 1.5 turbo mated to a six-speed DSG.

New spy shots of the upcoming MG5 Turbo, it will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show later this month and it will be launched on the Chinese car market soon thereafter. MG is also working on an extra sporty variant of the MG5 Turbo which will get a factory-body kit.

The very first spy shots of the MG5 Sport, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in the second half of this year, debut is expected for the Shanghai Auto Show in April. The MG5 Sport comes with a fat ass body kit including a low front spoiler and a big wing on the back.

New spy shots from the MG5 turbo. It was expected to debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April but didn’t show, debut is now expected for the Chegndu Auto Show that starts late this month. The MG5 turbo is powered by a turbocharged 1.5 that delivers 135hp.

The new MG5 was listed on the Chinese car market late last month, only engine available is a 1.5. That however will change soon with the arrival of the 1.5 turbo which will hit the streets in the second half of this year. The turbocharged 5 will debut at the Beijing Auto Show next week. Biggest difference with the standard MG5 is the front spoiler, the MG5 turbo has a shiny chrome-strip where the standard car has not.

At the Beijing Automobile Trade Show I met my first MG5. A lone white example was parked rather unceremoniously on a small booth, covered with crappy brochures. No spot lights, no pretty babes, MG indeed did a better job in Zhengzhou. Still, a special moment because this was only the second time the MG5 was on show in China, after that Zhengzhou-thing. The new MG5 hatchback has been officially listed on the China car market. Price starts at 87.700 yuan and ends at 128.700 yuan. Power comes from a 1.5 with 109hp and 135nm, mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

Yesterday we saw the first official pics of the new MG5 and today we have the fine vehicle naked from all sides, in blue. The MG5 will officially debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April and it will be listed on the Chinese car market on March 26. Price will range from 85.000 yuan until 130.000 yuan.

AutoCar Magazine from the UK published the first pictures of the upcoming MG5 hatchback. The production version will officially debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April and it will be listed on the Chinese car market on March 26.
