A very hip Chang’an Eado sedan, seen near the great city of Shanghai by reader & serial spotter Navigator 84, thank you for the pictures! The normally not overly exciting Eado has been hippified by a black bonnet with white racing stripes, making it look a lost faster than it is.
Dodge Ram SRT-10 pickup truck is Black in China
Published on April 7, 2013 by Tycho de Feyter
A very black Dodge Ram SRT-10 pickup truck, seen in a second hand car shop in Beijing by reader & serial spotter Navigator 84, thank you for the picture! The Dodge Ram SRT-10 was never officially imported into China, but some still arrive via the gray market where a low-mileage SRT-10 can costs as much as half a million yuan or 80.000 USD.
The Dodge Ram SRT-10 was made from 2004 until 2006, only 9527 trucks were produced. Power came from the manic Viper 8.3 liter V10, good for 510hp and 712nm. This particular example in Beijing is painted in shiny black and made even more pretty by matte black alloys. A few other rare Dodge vehicles we met in China: Dodge am Crew Cab, sec-gen Dodge Ram Van RV, and a Dodge Tomahawk.

Spotted in China: Honda CR-X del Sol
Published on March 14, 2013 by Tycho de Feyter
A very funky and very black Honda CR-X del Sol, seen in the great city of Shanghai by reader & serial spotter Navigator 84. The Honda CR-X del Sol was a small front-wheel drive targa-top roadster based on the Honda Civic platform, it was the successor of the 1997-1991 Honda CR-X.
The CR-X del Sol (‘of the sun’ = targa) was produced from 1992 until 1998 and sadly never exported to China, how this rare Honda ended up in Shanghai is therefore a yet unsolved mystery.

Spotted in China: Mercedes-Benz W124 E-Class Estate
Published on January 14, 2013 by Tycho de Feyter
A very rare W124 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate, seen in the great city of Shanghai by reader & serial spotter Navigator 84, thank you for the picture! The W124 was made from 1985 until 1996 and was never officially exported to China. Some Ee’s made it to Chinese shores via diplomatic or gray channels, and this is the very first Estate we see. We don’t know what is under the bonnet but it seems to be a high-end car, so a six-cylinder is most likely. Our small W124 collection: E220, E220 no.2, and a 200.
Audi A3 in pink and some black in China
Published on August 9, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Late Thursday evening here in Beijing, the streets are quiet but there is one bird sitting-singing on toppa my screen. Time so for Pink! Here we have a very kinky pinky Audi A3 with a matte-black bonnet, seen in the great city of Shanghai by reader & serial spotter Navigator84. Pink-ish alloys a great touch! The Audi A3 is imported into China and therefore on the expensive side for a dressed up Polo, price starts at 255.000 yuan and ends at 327.900 yuan. Pink Adi’s are sadly yet quite rare in China, we only got a pink Audi S4 and a pink Audi TT.

Honda Fit is Pink in China
Published on July 23, 2012 by Joey Wang
A very pink Honda Fit seen in Shanghai by reader & serial spotter Navigator84. The Fit is a funny little car sold mostly to the elderly and to very young girls who dig Hello Kitty and such. Me think the owner of this particular example must be one of those old people. Read more »
