A speedy Pontiac Firebird, Spotted in China in the great city of Shanghai by Reader Antoine Chalendard, thank you for the pictures! The ‘Bird looks fantastic in the winter sun, painted in fiery red, fitted with a body kit, and standing on super large wheels with matte gray multispoke alloys.

A beautiful black Pontiac Firebird coupe, seen not that far from the CarNewsChina.com office towers in central Beijing. The good vehicle was parked in an extremely dangerous place on a street corner, causing a traffic jam right behind it, without any owner in sight. Well now, a Firebird just does that kinda thing, because it can.

A very interesting fourth generation Pontiac Firebird, seen in the great city of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province. The good car has been sexed up considerably with a Ferrari badge and a body kit that includes a completely new nose with Audi-style LED-lights.

A shiny red Pontiac Firebird Convertible, seen on a sunny day in Shanghai. One of the air vents on the bonnet seems broken but otherwise this is a perfect Bird. The fourth generation Pontiac Firebird was made from 1993 until 2002, it was never officially exported to China but the gray market managed to get some Fire in the country! Power for the Firebird came from a 3.8 V6 or a 5.7 V8. We met two other Firebirds in China: red wedding car, and yellow.

A Ferrari-red Pontiac Firebird wedding car, seen on a rainy day in the great city of Dalian in Liaoning Province. The fourth generation Pontiac Firebird was made from 1993 until 2004 and it was never officially exported to China.
Fortunately the gray market helps where automakers fail, this red beauty is the second Firebird we see in China after we met a yellow bird at speed in Shenyang. Power for the Firebird came from a 3.8 V6 or a 5.7 V8, the latter being the perfect wedding car because it needs to stop at every gas station for fuel, and for a quick stay at the one-hour toothbrush-for-free highway motel!

A very yellow Pontiac Firebird Coupe, seen in the great city of Shenyang in Liaoning Province. It was very fast too, after one hurried shot it was just gone. Note yellow alloys. The fourth generation Pontiac Firebird was made from 1993 until 2002, it was never officially exported to China but some arrived via the gray market. I recently saw a red example in Shanghai but that one was even faster, out of my sight before I had my phone in hand. The Pontiac Firebird was powered by a 3.4 V6, a 3.8 V6 or the mighty 5.7 V8 that also powered the Chevrolet Corvette C5, it was good for a healthy 305hp and 454nm.
