Hyundai and Kia to recall 175.000 cars in China

Korean automakers Hyundai and its subsidiary Kia will recall more than 175,000 cars due to defective brake light switches, China’s consumer quality watchdog said on Monday.
Starting on Monday, Beijing Hyundai Motor Company will recall 121,835 of its IX35 models manufactured between April 9, 2010 and October 6, 2011, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement.

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co Ltd of central China’s Hubei province will recall nearly 38,000 vehicles, China’s consumer quality watchdog said Saturday.
Peugeot 307, Peugeot 308, Peugeot 408 and Citroen C-Quatre vehicles produced from February 23 to April 13, 2012 will be recalled, according to a statement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
Skoda recalls DSG-equipped cars in China

The Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture will recall DSG-equipped Skoda cars after being ‘urged’ to do so by China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
Skoda has released a recall notice on its website on March 16 concerning Octavia 1.4TSI, Octavia1.8TSI and Superb 1.4TSI models. It is the first recall announcement for the seven-speed DSG-equipped cars.
China demands Volkswagen to recall defective DSG-equipped cars

China’s consumer quality watchdog on Saturday urged German car maker Volkswagen to recall defective cars with DSG problems.
The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement on its website that its research has basically confirmed the Volkswagen’ direct shift gearbox transmission has defects which may cause engine power failures.
Renault to Recall 8.114 Cars in China

French automaker Renault will recall more than 8,114 cars in China over problems with their airbags, China’s consumer quality watchdog said Thursday.
As of July 30, the company will begin to recall its Megane II model sedans produced between October 17, 2003 and January 24, 2008 and the Scenic II cars made from March 4, 2004 to January 24, 2008, a General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine statement said.
Chang’an Auto to Recall 12.492 cars in China

Chinese auto producer Changan Automobile will recall 12,492 vehicles due to a problem that may affect proper engine lubrication, the country’s quality watchdog said Friday.
As of Friday, the Chongqing-based company will recall its CS35-model SUVs manufactured between June 3, 2012 and Jan 25, 2013, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement on its website.
Renault will recall over 60.000 cars in China

French automaker Renault has started to recall more than 60,000 cars exported to the Chinese mainland over problems with their fuel level sensors, China’s consumer quality watchdog said.
Renault’s Chinese subsidiary on Thursday began recalling 61,508 Koleos sport utility vehicles produced between December 16, 2008 and July 10, 2012, according to a statement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
Toyota recalls 22.869 Lexus cars in China over faulty wipers

Japanese automaker Toyota will recall 22,869 vehicles exported to China over defects in the vehicles’ windshield wipers, according to China’s consumer quality watchdog.
The company has decided to recall some of its exported Lexus IS sedans produced between January 2006 and September 2011, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement on its website.
