A Skoda Rapid police car, seen on the Cipate police equipment exhibition in Beijing. Chinese police doesn’t use the Rapid yet, they don’t use any Skoda vehicles, but Volkswagen apparently hopes that will change. The Skoda Rapid is a very new car, it was only launched on the Chinese car market last month, and this was the first time I met one in the flesh.

The best spy shots so far of the China-only extended Skoda Yeti. The Chinese Yeti will be stretched by 6 centimeter for more space in the back, it will be made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. The extended Skoda Yeti will be launched on the Chinese car market in early 2013. In the meantime Skoda will import the Yeti into China, sales of the imported Yeti will start next month.

The new Skoda Rapid sedan has been launched on the Chinese car market, one day before the start of the Shanghai Auto Show. Price starts at 79.900 yuan and ends at 116.900 yuan. The Rapid is made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture.
Skoda recalls DSG-equipped cars in China

The Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture will recall DSG-equipped Skoda cars after being ‘urged’ to do so by China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
Skoda has released a recall notice on its website on March 16 concerning Octavia 1.4TSI, Octavia1.8TSI and Superb 1.4TSI models. It is the first recall announcement for the seven-speed DSG-equipped cars.

The first official pictures of the China-made Skoda Rapid have leaked out. The Skoda Rapid is made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture, it will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in April and it will be launched on the Chinese auto market around the same time. Pictures show the vehicle in some sorta green-gray-ish color which makes the already boring car even less exciting.

Spy Shots: stretched Skoda Yeti in the factory in China

The Skoda Yeti will be made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture, production will start late this year. The Chinese Yeti will be stretched by about 60mm in the middle to create more space in the back. Pictures from the body taken in the factory show the main extension is done i the passenger door. The roof is extended a bit further back because of the large panoramic sunroof.
