A massive Soar Automobile 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom stretched limousine, Spotted in China at the M8 Luxury Car Mall in the great city of Shanghai by Reader Antoine Chalendard, thank you for the pictures!  The Soar looks brand new, painted in virgin white with a heavily chromed grille shiny bumpers.

Spotted in China: the Soar Automobile Rolls-Royce Phantom in White

A giant Soar Automobile Rolls-Royce Phantom ‘wedding car, Spotted in China in the great city of Shanghai by Reader Matthijs van L., thank you for the pictures! This is the long-wheelbase version (SWB here), painted in virgin white with a loud and shiny grille, Rolls-Rolls stickers on the front doors, and wheels completely covered by soul-mirroring chrome.

The vehicle is ‘inspired’ by the 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom. It is based on a Great Wall SUV platform and powered by a China-made Mitsubishi 2.4 four-cylinder petrol with 135hp and 200nm. She is a huge white whale: 6900/1920/1750, wheelbase is 4800 and weight is 2090kg. Shanghai is a good place for spotting Soar, earlier on we saw a golden LWB.

A huge Jinma QJM5022TYN6 Wedding Car, Spotted in China in the Beijing Classic Car Museum. This particular example is by far the most impressive Jinma I have ever seen. Fitted with a full-size soft top and a giant golden grille with matching headlights, bumper, and mirrors.

Going through the old archives can be a bitch, seeing stuff you rather don’t want to remember. There are some exceptions, such as this brilliant Jinma QJM5022TYN6 two-door Wedding Car. I met this beauty, looking very abandoned at that time already, all the way back in the autumn of 2004 in the Longtan Hu Park in Beijing.

A very rare Jinma QJM5022TYN6 two-door Wedding Car, Spotted in China in the great city of Chongqing by Reader Colin, thank you for the pictures! The Jinma QJM5022TYN6 Wedding Car was manufactured by the Jinma Motor Company from the early 1980′s to the late 1990′s.

In those days there weren’t too many fancy cars in China but there was, as always, a great need to impress the guests on wedding parties. The happy couple could then hire a so called ‘classic wedding car’, a China-made automobile that was supposed to look like a vintage Western limousine.  Some twenty Chinese companies manufactured these classic wedding cars and Jinma was the largest of the lot.

Today in China Car History the very special and very rare Jinma QJM5022TYN6 Wedding Car, seen at the premises of the Dalian Classic Car Museum in the great city of Dalian in Liaoning Province. The Jinma QJM5022TYN6 Wedding Car was manufactured by the Jinma Motor Company from the early 1980’s to the late 1990’s.

The mighty Soar Rolls-Royce Phantom spotted in Shanghai

The superb Soar Rolls-Royce Phantom, seen on the Yan’an Elevated Highway in the great city of Shanghai by reader ‘Tom in Shanghai’, thank you very much for the pictures! The Roller is made by a Chinese company called Qingdao Soar Automobile from Qingdao in Shandong Province, and this is the top of the bill long-wheelbase variant, painted in gold and fitted with fake British license plates.

Back in January I posted a post about a Chinese company called Soar Automobile which makes a very good looking copy of the 1961 Rolls Royce Phantom. In February we met the long-wheelbase version on da street and now we have some live pics of the short-wheelbase version, parked on a street near the International Exhibition Center in Beijing.
