More good news about Zhongxing (ZX Auto). Production of the Urban Ark has begun, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in June. The Urban Ark debuted as two-concepts on the 2012 Beijing Auto Show, price will start around 60.000 yuan.
Zhongxing calls the Urban Ark, which is by far the best English name for a Chinese car we have heard so far, an ‘AUV’, which stands for ‘Activity Utility Vehicle’.

New pictures of the production version of the Zhongxing Urban Ark, it will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in April and it will be launched on the China auto market in the second half of this year. Price will range from 70.000 to 90.000 yuan. Weird green-ish paint job doesn’t do the Urban Ark much good, the vehicle loox much better in primary colors such as red, black or blue.

This is the new Zhongxing Urban Ark, a small SUV that will debut at the Beijing Auto Show next week. The Urban Ark already wins my prize for the best named car. Congrats! But!, ‘Urban Ark’ is literally translated from its Chinese name,都市方舟. Zhongxing, aka ZTE Auto, might still use a different English name. If they do, they loose the prize, except for sure when the other name is even better…
