The new Volvo XC Classic has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 548.900 yuan and ends at 638.900 yuan ($89.000 – 104.000). The Volvo XC Classic is a continuation of the first generation Volvo XC90. The Volvo XC Classic is manufactured in China in a new Geely-funded factory in Daqing in Heilongjiang Province.

The new Volvo XC90 was unveiled in Sweden late last month. The old Volvo XC90 however does not die. Production has been moved to a new factory in China. The ‘Volvo XC Classic’ will debut in Beijing on September 15 and it will hit the Chinese car market in October. Above the first official photo. The XC Classic gets extra chrome in the bumper and chromed mirrors.

New spy shots of the Volvo XC Classic testing in China. The Volvo XC Classic is the current Volvo XC90, it will be manufactured in China starting late this year, just when production of the all-new Volvo XC90 starts in Sweden. Launch on the China car market in scheduled for December.

The new Volvo XC90 SUV will debut later this year. The current Volvo XC90 however won’t die. Production will be moved to China where it will roll off the line from December. The XC90 will be manufactured in a new Geely-funded factory in Daqing in Heilongjiang Province.
The Volvo XC90 will be offered as a budget alternative next to the new Volvo XC90 which will be imported into China from early 2015. Geely will also use the XC90 platform for an SUV of its own, which is expected to launch in late 2015. The China-made XC90 will only be available with the 2.5 liter petrol engine.
