Everything with the magic words ‘World Expo Shanghai’ gets a lot of media attention in China today. Several car makers rolled out expo-themed specials and now BMW is in with this 492.000 rmb X1 xDrive25i. It will hit la market soon.
The X1 is now imported but BMW and Brilliance are working on a new factory to make the X1 in China, factory to be completed in 2012. The X1 will then likely sell a bit cheaper, 492.000 is a lot of cash for such a small vehicle. BMW will also make a stretched version of the 3-series to compete with Audi’s A4L.
