BMW to recall 6,000 imported X5 cars in China
Published on November 12, 2010 by Tycho de Feyter

German automaker BMW AG will recall around 6,000 imported BMW X5 cars on the Chinese mainland due to the possibility of fuel pump failures, according to a statement posted on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
The recall starting on Nov. 15 will involve the BMW X5 3.0 cars produced from Nov. 11, 2007 to Aug. 30, 2008.
Abnormal wear caused by carbon brushes pressing tightly against the commentators inside the fuel pump motor (mounted inside the fuel tank) may lead to fuel pump failure, causing the car not to start. If the fuel pump stops working while the car is running, the engine will suddenly stop.

That torque might make it a little useful off road. Price is 159.800 rmb. Nice price for a nice machine, but there is one thing about it I really like:
