Cool stuff: the new BYD F3 will come with a very innovative remote control, see pic. The F3 can be remotely started (red button), remotely moved forward, backwards, and left and right. The system works only at very low speed, but we don’t know yet how low.

Perfect for situations like when your neighbor comes knocking at your door asking you to move your car a few centimeters so he can park in his favorite spot. In the old world you had to get out of the house, get in the car, start it and move. No need for all that anymore thanks to BYD! This is the new world… Just do it from your chair on your porch, while having a beer. I guess police can’t fine you for drinking when you are not actually in the car.

New BYD F3 comes with remote control than can actually move the car

What a brilliant device, I suddenly start to like BYD again, very much. The legal implications must be very interesting but as far as I know China doesn’t have any law that forbids remote controlled real cars, simply because nobody ever thought it would happen. It did, and BYD will sell it. Sure some geeks will find a way to get rid of the limiter, if they do, we can start racing…

  1. @ Scarbir. Are we looking at the same device? Slider opens door, yes, but the pad below starts and moves car. Also check the original source.

  2. Great feature if implemented on the electric cars from BYD! Now you can check if the battery pack will catch fire BEFORE you get into the car!
