Back in January I posted a post about a Chinese company called Soar Automobile which makes a very good looking copy of the 1961 Rolls Royce Phantom. In February we met the long-wheelbase version on da street and now we have some live pics of the short-wheelbase version, parked on a street near the International Exhibition Center in Beijing.

It is a very good fake! No Englishman will see the difference after a few pints. The Soar Rolls-Royce is based on the platform of a Great Wall SUV and powered by a 2.4 four-cylinder that poops out 135 hp and 200nm. The body work is hand-made by Soar. Sadly the Soar is officially not road legal. Most cars are sold to wedding companies which can get a temporarily license for the big party day. Otherwise these Rollers have to stay off the streets. Size of the SWB: 5900/1920/1750, wheelbase is 3800. The LWB is one meter longer.
