A very colorful Volkswagen Jetta, seen in central Beijing by reader Jacco B., thank you for the picture! The jolly Jetta was wrapped in a surprising combination of  matte orange, matte purple, matte yellow, and matte green, and is further sexed up by racy tires with sporty double-four spoke alloys, fake air boxes on the bonnet, red tinted headlights, black windows, and a huge green wing on the back. A true work of art this Jetta is!

The Volkswagen Jetta MK2 was made in China from 1991 until March this year when it was finally replaced by the all-new Jetta. The MK2 was an extremely popular car, loved for its fault-free character and pure basic transport functionality. It also was, and likely will be for a long time to come, very popular to make-more-pretty.

  1. Why do you fill your very nice news site with this kind of thing? This is not news!

No Ferrari painted pink by someone with no style or taste is news. No old car on the streets of Beijing is news. Who cares if a normal car is painted matte? It is NOT news!

Stick to news please! New models, new designs. Remember your web site name – CarNEWSChina!!

    • It doesn’t have to be all about news you know… the VW Jettas are fading away in China, at least the classic MK2s, and we might as well enjoy them before they’re gone. Plus you don’t have to read the “non-news” parts if you don’t want to. Many of you foreigners simply don’t understand how classic the old jetta is in China.
