Spy shots showing the new Hengtian Auto Huanteng H1 SUV all-naked in China, with an interesting front that neatly combines elements of the Volkswagen Golf and Volkswagen Tiguan. The Huanteng H1 will be launched on the China car market before the end of this year, price will start around 80.000 yuan.
The Huanteng H1 will be powered by a 1.5 liter four-cylinder with an output of some 120hp, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The market for this kind of small & cheap SUV’s is still growing fast in China, mostly in second and third tier cities where many more citizens have cash in hand to buy a first car.
Hengtian sure should be able to get a slice of that market, but it needs to work hard on marketing since the brand is virtually unknown in most of the country.
