Spy Shots: Haima M5 is Ready for the China car market

New spy shots of the sleek Haima M5 sedan, showing that the vehicle is ready for the China car market. The Haima H5 is the successor of the Haima Family, it will debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and it will be launched in the Chinese auto market in early 2012.

The outgoing Haima Family. Price starts at 71.800 yuan and ends at 98.800 yuan. Lone engine is a 120hp 1.6 mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic.

The 1.6 will continue the new Haima M5, and a 130hp 1.8 will be available as well. Haima is also working on a 1.8 turbo which will be launched late next year. Price for the new m5 will start around 70.000 yuan and end around 110.000 yuan.

  1. Nice looking, so much more substantial than the fragile Family. But what’s underneath – who’s platform? Is it finally Haima’s this time?

  2. Frustratingly mixed. It has potential but it’s spoilt by having a body too long and wide for the wheel base, being under-wheeled, and horrible cheap alloys.

    Front 3/4 by far the best view. Rear 3/4 by far the worst. Not too bad straight on from front (although as said above a bit of a Buick copy) or rear.

    Will be interesting to see the quality of the interior. It needs to be good.

    I second that statement, plus, where does this leave the Haima M6? If you ask me, it is the better looking car of the two.
