A brilliantly beautiful black Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL, seen on the Beijing Tuning Street in the east of the Capital. Fortunately this great Benz wasn’t tuned or modified at all, but 100% original and in perfect shape, as if it rolled off the line only yesterday.

Check license plate! The 560 SEL was perfect from front to back. Clean, well-maintained, and most of all; loved.

The 560 SEL was a mighty strong Stuttgart sled, powered by a 5.6 liter V8 with an output of 268hp and a massive 421nm, top speed was 250km/h. The W126 was made from 1979 until 1992 but it was never officially exported to China. Some cars however were bought by the Chinese government, and others arrived via diplomatic or other misty channels. We got us a small China-W126 Collection: abandoned, chery red, US-spec 560 SEL, sporty 560 SEL, S280, really stretched, 500 SEL, 300SE, and another abandoned.

  1. These are good for 1 million miles. And are probably the last generation of Mercedes that is true for, too many electronics now and too much that can go wrong.

This is the type of car which built a brand that enables Mercedes to get away with a huge price premium for products at the bottom of their range which are completely unjustified.
