The current Roewe W5 was launched on the China car market in August 2011. Price starts at 151.800 yuan and ends at 298.800 yuan. The Roewe W5 is based on the last-generation Ssangyong Kyron. Engines: 160hp 1.8 turbo and a 220hp 3.2 liter six-in-line, the latter based on an ancient Mercedes-Benz engine that the Germans sold to Ssangyong in the 1980′s.

The facelifted W5 will ditch both engines and will be powered by a new 2.0 turbo, part of en engine family that is currently under development in cooperation with General Motors. SAIC calls the new engines ‘CUBE-TECH’, which indicates a compact design.

Blue is beautiful. Interior very concept-ish with loads of large screens and techy materials. Steering wheel looks rather cool.
