New spy shots of the upcoming Dongfeng Fengshen D23 sedan testing in China. The Fengshen D23 will be debut on the Chengdu Auto Show in September and will be launched on the China car market in October, price will start around 70.000 yuan and end around 120.000 yuan. The Fengshen D23 is based on the Peugeot 207 sedan that is still in production at the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture.
The good old Dongfeng-PSA Peugeot 207 sedan. Price starts at 71.800 yuan and ends at 105.800 yuan. Engines: 76hp 1.4 and and 80hp 1.6, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The Fengshen D23 will ditch the old Peugeot engines for a Dongfeng developed 1.5 with 116hp and 145nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic.
Dashboard is completely new. Automatic gearbox here.
Now that Dongfeng is one of the largest stakeholders in PSA they will demand more platform ‘sharing’. So far they only use rather old platforms but that is likely to change in the future. The latest news is the new Dongfeng Number 1 full-size sedan that will be based on the platform of the Citroen C6.
