GM China to recall the Buick Enclave

General Motors China will recall 26.579 Buick Enclave SUV’s to replace faulty seat belts. The recall will start on June 30. The vehicles were produced between Aug 15, 2008 and April 10 this year. It is widely expected that more announcements on other recalls will follow soon.

The Buick Enclave is imported into China. Price starts at 389.000 yuan and ends at 649.000 yuan ($62.000 – 104.000). Lone engine is a 288hp 3.6 liter V6. It is the second recall for the big SUV, the first recall was in April 2012 for problems with the windshield.

So far the latest series of worldwide recalls has not included any GM cars that were manufactured in China. GM has three joint ventures here: Shanghai-GM, SAIC-GM-Wuling, and FAW-GM.
