The facelifted BYD G6 will be powered by a new 2.0 turbo with 205hp and 320nm, mated to a 6-speed DCT. This new engine will also power the upcoming BYD S7 SUV. The 1.5 turbo will continue but the old 2.0 will not return.  Price range will move up, with a start of about 100.000 yuan and and end somewhere near 140.000 yuan, making the facelifted G6 the most expensive BYD sedan ever.

Note the new 2.0 TID badge. TID has nothing to do with diesel, but means ‘Turbo, (direct) Injection, DCT.’

  1. There’s nothing wrong with looking more like Peter Schreyer’s KIA design language. A smart move from BYD. Make BYD cars more German looking, not so much Toyota styling. That is what KIA has done.
