New spy shots of the upcoming Lifan 820 sedan, the new flagship for the Lifan brand. The 820 debuted on the Beijing Auto Show and will launch on the Chinese car market in Q4. Price will start around 90.000 yuan and end around 140.000 yuan.
New news on the engine. This particular white car has a 2.4 badge on the back. The car on the Beijing show had a 1.8 under the bonnet, and earlier on we heard Lifan was working on a 2.0. All these engines will become available in the Lifan 820. They are part of a large engine family, ranging from a 0.8 liter three-cylinder to the 2.4, that has been developed by Lifan in close cooperation with the British firm Ricardo.
The 2.4 will be mated to a CVT or a six-speed automatic. The other engines will also be available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
A sleek looking car with a massive grille with four fat chromed bars, powered by a new 2.4 liter engine. Lifan is suddenly getting things very right…
