The new Volkswagen Jetta Sportline has been launched on the Chinese auto market, priced at 134.800 yuan. The Jetta Sportline is a sporty variant of the China-only Volkswagen Jetta sedan. The Sportline comes with a racy body kit, a sporty black upper grille, a sporty black lower grille, a subtle spoiler at the back, speedy multispoke alloys, and some sporty stitching inside.
The Jetta is made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. This is the standard Jetta for comparison. Price starts at 82.800 yuan and ends at 119.300 yuan. Engines: 90hp 1.4 and a 110hp 1.6, both mated to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
And now for the good news! Unlike all other sporty Volkswagen in China the Jetta Sportline actually gets more power. The Sportline comes with a 1.4 TSI turbo with a hefty 131 horses and 225hp, mated to a 7-speed DSG. The engine is exclusive for the Sportline and makes it a serious pocket rocket. Top speed is 200 kilometer per hour and 0-100 is gone in 9.2 seconds. A seriously fast Jetta this in, comparable in character to the famous 2002 Bora R.
