The very first Spy Shots of the new Wuling Baojun 310, the hatchback variant of the upcoming Wuling Baojun 330 sedan. The Baojun 310 will be launched on the Chinese car market in the third quarter. Price will range from about 40.000 to 60.000 yuan.

The Baojun 310 is based on the Chevrolet Sail hatchback, which is manufactured in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture. It will soon be replaced by the Sail 3 hatchback, just like the old Sail sedan has been replaced by the new-ish Chevrolet Sail 3 sedan.

Sporty design around the C-pillar.

The Baojun 310 will be powered by a 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 109hp, mated to a six-speed manual.

Baojun is an entry level brand under the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture, in which GM has a 43% stake. The other partners are SAIC (aka Shanghai Auto) and Wuling Automotive. SAIC and GM are tied up in the giant Shanghai-GM joint venture that makes Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac cars for the Chinese market.

  1. A six speed gearbox in a 40.000 yuan car, that would be nice, sadly no Baojun has a six speed gearbox, not the 610 / 630, not the 730 mpv, not the upcoming 560 suv, not the upcoming 310 / 330. They are positioned in the low end of the market, there must be some difference, if you want a six speed from GM you’ll have to save extra for a Chevrolet.
