The best Spy Shots so far of the new Cadillac CT6 sedan. This is the China-made version, it debuted last month on the Chengdu Auto Show and will launch on the Chinese car market in early 2016. The Cadillac CT6 is be manufactured by the Shanghai-GM joint venture.

This is the CT6 40T, the Chinese designation for the new 3.0 twin-turbocharged engine. Output is 405hp and 543nm, and horses go to all wheels via a eight-speed automatic transmission. AWD badge on the lower-left. Shanghai-GM badge on the lower-right. Twin-pipes on each side.

The CT6 is set to compete with the lower-priced variants of the Audi A8, BMW 7, and Mercedes S-Class. It stands on the new GM ‘Omega’ platform that will also underpin a future big-barge Buick that will be manufactured in China exclusively for the Chinese market.

A very classy interior with loads of beige leather and rose-colored wood. Steering wheel looks brilliant with wood inlay and large Cadillac logo.

A mixture of analogue and digital. Nice for a Cadillac but still not on Audi or Mercedes level.

Elsewhere we saw a dusty wine-red example. The grille is hugely impressive with endless chrome and bling. LED strips of the headlights dive all the way down to the lower bumper where they connect with yet another chromed ornament.

  1. Ok so writes these things…..not on Mercedes or Audi level? Really well you do realize that is not a mix of analog and digital even with the chrome sides. It is all digital and can change that view you see is one of the settings. Please educate yourself before you write these things.

Finally what is interesting is that that green ball on the left seem like the one in the Volt. So this may actually be the hybrid plug in version which goes on sale in China first. See what you can offer if you research just a little.

    • Crap! The dials on the left and on the right are analog. Easy to see! The output within the dials is digital and can be customized.

  2. Good things pointed out by Rayjht, the dash is a customizable, all digital set up and one thing I do like about it (compared to other cars with dig dash’s) is the chrome outline. It adds a classic view to the modern tech.
I am stoked to see the tan leather being offered with the natural wood finish. On Caddy’s site they show it with a gloss snakeskin looking style.
Caddy’s also known for putting a wide rear brake indicator either on their trunk lid or rear window, I’d like to see if and where it’s been placed on the CT6. Can’t wait to find out more as it nears it’s release, especially the PRICING!
