The first Spy Shots of the upcoming FAW Junpai A50 sedan, scheduled for debut on the Beijing Auto Show in April and launch on the Chinese car market in June. ‘Junpai’ is a new brand under First Auto Works (FAW). Their first car, the Junpai D60 SUV, was launched in October.

A neatly lined interior with a lot of black, some shiny bits for happy, and a large touch screen for the infotainment. The Junpai A50 will be available with two engines: a 1.5 with 102hp and 135nm, and a 1.8 with 139hp and 170nm, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.

A very sharp front for a FAW. Badge on the bonnet instead of on the grille. Daring! The Junpai A50 seems closely related to the recently launched FAW Besturn B30 sedan, Besturn being another brand of FAW. The Junpai A50 will be manufactured by Tianjin-FAW, a FAW subsidiary based in the city of Tianjin.

  1. It appears that the “Junpai” brand, with its appeal to youth, is designed to fix the broken “Xiali” brand by substitution, and thus save FAW’s Tianjin subsidiary.
    And so goes the legacy of the Charade-spawned Xiali, an icon of China’s native auto industry.
