We have a new flock of photos of the infamous Zotye SR8 Porsche Macan clone from China, showing a sparkling fresh example in blue with a red interior. The SR8 will be launched on the Chinese car market shortly but when exactly is unclear.
A very nice interior. The overall design, the center stack, the center tunnel, the buttons on each side of the gear lever, the clock on dash-top, the instrument panel, shape of the air vents, the parking-brake lever, and even the steering wheel are all copied from the Porsche. The main difference is the touch screen, which is actually bigger in the SR8 than in the Macan.

Price of the SR8 will start at 88.800 yuan and end at 99.900 yuan. The fuzzy numbers are no coincidence, both 8 and 9 are considered lucky in Chinese culture. For comparison; price for the Porsche Macan. starts at a steep 558.000 yuan or 89.920 USD.
Engines: 150hp 1.5 turbo and a 190hp 2.0 turbo. The engines are sourced from the Shenyang-Mitsubishi engine-making joint venture, a company that powers basically all vehicles made by smaller Chinese automakers, including the infamous Landwind X7 Range Rover Evoque clone.
Transmissions: five-speed manual or a six-speed DCT.
Size wise:
Zotye SR8: 4744/1929/1647, and wheelbase is 2850.
Porsche Macan: 4681/1923/1624, and wheelbase is 2807.
Porsche has said it might sue Zotye. Zotye is not afraid. The company got away with the the SR7 (Audi Q3), Damai X5 (Tiguan), and the Zotye T600 (Audi Q5), so they expect to get away with the Macan too, and they are likely right.
Interestingly, Jaguar Land Rover has said it is suing Landwind over the X7, almost an entire year after the car was launched on the market. Seems late, and in anyway a hard case. Porsche will watch carefully.
The color scheme is wild. Cream with dark red, love the red arm rest.
Roof rails, rear door, roof spoiler, chrome around the windows, the shoulders; it is all just like on the Porsche. Zotye got a little bit creative with the rear lights and fitted a different bumper and pipes.
Another blue car with all the badges on. The SR8 badge has the 8 in red. How speedy. Exhaust pipes seem a tad too small.
This interior is less interesting. Some kinda orange brown with black.
Enough space in the back but the seats are too flat.
The pipes seem ill-fitted. The inner pipe is lower than the outer pipe. Hopefully a pre-production car.

The infotainment system at work. Gear lever is huge. The right button range has two empty slots. The clock is a fancy lap timer in the Porsche but really just a clock in the Zotye. Can’t copy all!
Dials are conventional but there is a screen inside the rev counter.

And the infotainment system shows… another clock. Nice. And check that gear lever again! Very tractor.
One in white and the pipes look the same wuzzy.
Wheels seem a but too narrow here.
