The facelifted JAC Refine S3 crossover has been launched on the Chengdu Auto Show in China. The facelift is extensive and includes a new and extra shiny grille, triangle shaped fog lights, new headlights, new rear lights, new bumpers, and an updated interior. It also sports the new JAC corporate logo. The Refine S3 has been launched on the Chinese car market, price starts at 65,880 yuan and ends at 88,800 yuan.

Quality has improved a lot. Red stitching and plastic carbon fiber for sporty. Buttons looked and felt very solid.

Shiny pipes nicely integrated in the bumper. Window wing is bigger than before. Roof rails are huge. Very usable. Can take a canoe in that roof. Red brakes for more sportiness. We saw red brakes everywhere on new cars on the show. A new trend!

The Refine S3 III, as JAC calls it, is powered by a 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 113hp and 146nm, mated to a five-speed manual (only for the cheapest variant), a six-speed manual, or a CVT.

An ultra hip Drive So Easy fuel cap.

By the way, the long awaited Refine S1 didn’t show again. Not sure why it takes them so long to finish that car. Next chance: the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
