Landwind is awash with money thanks to their top selling X7 Evoque clone. Happily, it appears that they are using that cash to launch more cars. Earlier on we saw the Landwind Daoyao, and now we have a new compact crossover SUV code named the E36.

It looks rather nice and neath and it isn’t a clear clone of another car. Progress! Power will come from a 150hp 1.5 turbo and from a 1.6 with about 120hp. It is going to be cheap, price will start around 65.000 yuan and end around 85.000 yuan.

Black D-pillar and matching spoiler are nice. Lights are a tad too large for 2017 where smaller units are the fashion. There is however one really bad thing: the exhaust pipe.

It is extremely poorly integrated in the rest of the design. It isn’t really integrated at all. It just hangs under the bumper. Very ugly.

The front is impressive with a giant Landwind badge and a Lexus-like grille with loads of shine.

Roof rails are absolutely functional. Wheels a bit too small and narrow, best visible at the rear.

Too bad about the pipe, but all in all a good looking little SUV and likely a seller too. It will hit the Chinese car market sometime around the middle of the year.

  1. It is the Changan CS35 with differences in the external panels, like front design and details backwards.

Changan and Landwind are partners, so that might be the reason why they did it!!
