McLaren 650S Spider Crashes Into Tanker Truck In China; Inferno Narrowly Avoided

A traffic police man shouts at the driver of a McLaren 650S Spider after it had crashed into a tanker truck on a rural road near Shaoxing City in Zhejiang Province in China. The McLaren was apparently involved in a drag race with another car when the driver lost control. The heavens must have been smiling because this accident could have ended into a deadly inferno because…
… the Spider crashed straight into the truck’s fuel tank. Fortunately for all the tank held. Had it exploded the entire tanker likely would have gone bang as well, and the ensuing seas of flames would have engulfed everything nearby.
But that didn’t happen. All we have is a purple McLaren with heavy damage on the front bumper and bonnet. The driver was unhurt.
The looks quite special; painted in purple, slick-like tires, black five-spoke wheels, red brakes, a black interior, and the front splitter and lower bumper are painted in body color, normally they are black. The 650S Spider is powered by a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 with 650 horses. Price in China starts at a manic 3.26 million yuan or $470.000, and repairs are famously expensive.
Looks like the engine cover popped open on impact. Bumper in body color again. The spoiler in in black, whereas it is standard in body color. The owners has been been turning things around…
Strangely, the N is missing from the McLaren badge. Well, great to see this purple super car didn’t burn to the ground.
