The Dongfeng Fengnuo E300 electric sedan debuted on the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. ‘Fengnuo’ is a sound translation of ‘Fluence’, which relates to the Renault Fluence, and more specifically to the electric Renault Fluence Z.E., where this E300 is based on. The front has been redesigned with a new bumper and grille, but they are otherwise the same.
The new Renault Koleos has been launched on the Beijing Auto Show, looking somewhat confused and over-designed, with a very busy grille and a shiny line over the front fender to a fake air vent in the door. The new Koleos is a very different car than the old one, which was a small crossover, whereas the new one is a large SUV.

The Dongfeng-Renault joint venture was formally launched in December 2013, but is has been rather quiet since then. Until now. The joint venture has announced its plans for the future, including the production of two SUV’s, two sedans, an electric car, and the launch of a new sub-brand.

Good news for Renault in China. After many years of hard negotiations and obtaining a zillion government permits the brand new Dongfeng-Renault joint venture has finally been launched in the city of Wuhan where the company will built its first factory. The joint venture is 50-50% owned by China’s Dongfeng Group and Renault Automobile.
The new Dongfeng-Renault joint venture has received the final approvals and permissions of the Chinese authorities, meaning the venture can start investing money and then making cars. The Dongfeng-Renault joint venture will initially invest 7.2 billion yuan ($1.18 billion).
