This is the NextEV NIO ES8, and while it looks rather good it also looks surprisingly ‘normal’ from the young car company that gave us the EP9 supercar and the EVE autonomous concept. The NIO ES8 is a semi-concept which means that the eventual production car will only be different on details.
NextEV NIO has teamed up with Changan Auto for the production of electric cars for the Chinese market. Their first car will debut in concept form on the Shanghai Auto Show. The SUV, likely to be called NIO ES8, will be about the size of the Volvo XC90. NIO has released one rendering, showing a rather traditional design.
This is the new NIO Eve, an autonomous electric concept car. It was launched in Austin, Texas, and will have its Chinese debut on the Shanghai Auto Show next month. The Eve has an artificial intelligence engine’ that is called Nomi, which will take car of everything from driving to entertainment.
Last month NexEVlaunched the NIO brand and the EP9 electric supercar, which will be made in a small series for a lot of money. The EP9 will serve as a halo model for the rest of the range. The range will consists of SUVs, MPVs and a sedan.
First up are two SUVs, code named the NIO ES8 and the NIO ES9. Above photo was taken in NextEV’s design center in Germany, showing an early model of the EP9 under cover and three SUVs in the background; a Volvo XC90, a BMW X5, and a Range Rover Sport.
The spectacular NextEVelectricsupercarhas been spied on the famous Nürburgring in Germany. The photos show an un-camouflaged blue example followed by an Audi camera car and there was a helicopter in the air as well, indicating they were shooting a promotional video.
This is the first photo of the upcoming Next EV electricsupercar. It will be unveiled on November 21, not in China but in London, England. The yet nameless vehicle will have a massive output of 1360 horsepower. Zero to 100 will take 3 seconds, and maximum speed is claimed to be 300 kilometer per hour. Bad news: initially, Next EV will only make six cars.
