Production of the new Huatai B11 will start soon. It is Huatai’s new Flagship and certainly loox impressive. Size: 4943×1856×1516, wheelbase: 2770. Weight: 1486. Engine: SAIC’s 1.8 turbo (18K4G) that also drives to Roewe 550 and 750.

In the 750 it delivers [email protected] and [email protected] Other engines are Huatai’s own 2.0 diesel and a Mitsubishi-sourced 2.4 petrol (4G69).

It is great to see not all Chinese car companies copy Toyotas. Huatai is more brave than BYD and takes on mighty Porsche with this new SUV. A concept so far but the B11 made it to production so this one will likely roll of the line as well. What do the Germans think? More pictures:

JAC comes to batlle all Chinese Aygo-clones with this new YueYue, a very nice looker in green. Size: 3535x1640x1475mm, wheelbase is 2390mm. Engine 1.0 or 1.1 with either a 5-speed manual or an auto. Price will be low, very low, likely to start around 35.000 rmb.

This is the facelifted Brilliance BS4 sedan and as expected most changes went to the new front. The car was scheduled debut on Friday at the Beijing Auto Show but it happens to happen two days earlier. Brilliance is very messy with its secrecy and put all new cars on display without any cover.

This is the new Brilliance BS4 Wagon, cross-style. Brilliance will bring the facelifted BS4 to the Beijing Auto Show but the wagon got the biggest change. Brilliance hopes this sporty touch will get some more buyers in the showroom. The BS4 wagon is a good looking car but not exactly a hot seller, Chinese people are not yet used to wagons.

BYD isn’t very good at keeping things secret until a show starts. Yet another new BYD standing on a parking lot waiting for the Beijing Auto Show. The i6 is a full size sedan: 4860mmx1825mmx1463mm, wheelbase is 2745mm. Prices from 120.ooo rmb to 180.000 rmb. Engines Mitsubishi sourced 2.0 and 2.4 litre four cilinder petrols, manual or auto transmission.

Beijing Auto Show Preview: Chery Riich G3

Riich is Chery’s luxury subbrand and this new G3 is based on the Chery A5 but made to look more expensive. It got a new nose, a new back and a new interior. But the best now: it will come with two supercharged engines (!), a 1.3S and a 1.6S. Other engines are 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0. The 1.3S has [email protected] No more info on the ‘S’-engines available yet. CVT transmission will be available for the 1.6 and 1.8 non-supercharged engines. Price from 77.900 to 109.000.

Another new BYD waiting for the Beijing Auto Show to start. Again in a boring color, why not paint it red? The M6 is a full size MPV that resembles the Toyota Previa, but it’s bigger: 4808mm×1800mm×1756mm, wheelbase is 2950mm. Previa to compare: 4780mm×1790mm×1820mm, wheelbase 2900mm, a different car indeed.

Beijing Auto Show Preview: BYD E6

The production version of the BYD E6 was waiting outside the exibition hall for the Beijing Auto Show. On the right a BYD E6 taxi from a pilot project in Shenzhen. The E6 is a pure electric MPV and can drive, so BYD sais, 300 km on a single charge, top speed is 160km/h and it ony needs 15 minutes for a 80% charge. Mind that last claim, that is not a charge at home but at a special ‘3C’ full-powered charging station.
