Third-Generation Changan CS75 Plus iDD PHEV SUV Unveiled In China

The third-generation Changan CS75 Plus iDD was unveiled at the 2023 Changan Automobile Global Partner Conference in China. The new CS75 Plus iDD features Changan’s iDD electric hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor with an NEDC pure electric cruising range of 150km.

At the conference, Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Changan Automobile, shared that the company plans to sell 4 million vehicles by 2025, with 3 million vehicles coming from the Changan brand, new energy vehicle sales accounting for 35%, and overseas sales accounting for 15%. Furthermore, the company plans to sell 5 million vehicles by 2030, with 4 million vehicles coming from the Changan brand, new energy vehicle sales accounting for more than 60%, and overseas sales accounting for 30%.

The first CS75 Plus debuted in 2019. As the name implied, it was a high-end version of the Changan CS75 SUV. The size of the car is 4700(4710)/1865/1710mm with a 2710mm wheelbase.

The CS75 Plus iDD is equipped with Changan’s Blue Whale iDD 1.5T hybrid system, the engine outputs 125 kW and the electric motor outputs 110 kW. Its lithium iron phosphate batteries are supplied by CATL. The car has a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of 1.46L/100km. With a full fuel tank and full charge, the comprehensive cruising range can reach up to 1200 km, and the NEDC pure electric cruising range can reach up to 150 km. Furthermore, the system supports AC and DC dual fast charging and can achieve full charge in as little as 30 minutes.

The interior looks luxurious with lots of classy leather on the seats and dashboard. The blue touch further accentuates the hybrid identity of the car. The dashboard is dominated by a dual 12.3-inch screen, one for the digital dashboard and one for the infotainment. The infotainment system features popular Chinese apps such as WeChat, Baidu Maps, and Baidu CarLife.

In terms of safety, it comes with a level 2 driving assistance system that supports adaptive cruise control, lane centering, merging assistance, front and rear collision warning/active braking, a 360-degree panoramic camera, and a driver monitor system for active fatigue detection.
