Here I have something very special for you all, something never seen before on this website, a first generation Oldsmobile Silhouette. But first, a bit of history. During the 1990’s, General Motors developed a platform called the U-Body specifically for minivans, such as this Oldsmobile.
Other names under which this van was sold included the Pontiac Transport and the Chevrolet Lumina APV. Quite a few Chevrolet versions were imported into China by foreign companies and are found relatively easy on Weibo. The Pontiac is not so common but the Oldsmobile is by far the rarest, a quick Weibo search yields only two results.

A fiery red Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Spotted in China on a tuning show in Beijing. The old Olds’ was in perfect condition, paint as shiny as new, black window frames all in shape and place, no rust or missing parts, and the wheel covers are period original! What then was it doing on a tuning show?, it was indeed showing off the decal on the bonnet, depicting a hellish fire with yellow and red flames topped by black smoke. They called it art.

A very rare and very sleek Oldsmobile 98 sedan, seen in the great city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province. The 11th generation Oldsmobile 98 was made from 1991 until 1998. The 98 was the flagship of the Oldsmobile range, based on the same GM-C platform that also underpinned the first generation Cadillac Fleetwood.
