The Beijing Auto Shenbao D280 will be launched on the Chinese car market in December. The Shenbao D280 is the production version of the Beijing Auto C70G that debuted on the Beijing Auto Show in April. The B70G/Shenbao D280 is based on the old Saab 9-5.

There will be three engines: a new 1.8 turbo with 174hp, a Saab 2.0 turbo with 206hp and a Saab 2.3 turbo with 246hp, all mated to a five-speed automatic. Earlier on we heard about the Saab 2.0 and 2.3, the 1.8 however is an interesting new addition to the line-up.

It looks smart. There is already a discernable and distinctive design language which it will be interesting to see expanded across a whole range.
