We have been Cloned!

Published on August 19, 2014 by Tycho de Feijter

CarNewsChina.ru is Stealing Content

CarNewsChina.com has been cloned by a Russian website called Carnewschina.ru. We have nothing to do with this website. They are systematically stealing our content including the history articles and the spots. They have no permission to copy-paste our content. They do not link back to our site. Up to today they stole at least 100 articles. And look what they did to our watermark, which we add to all our pictures to stop the stealing. Check this sh*t:

cnc-clone-3

Just pathetic.

We have asked our Russian ‘colleagues’ to stop their unfair practices. They admitted they copied our content and said they would add links, but that hasn’t happened so far.

They do nothing else but copy-pasting our hard work. This is a incredible sleazy and lazy way to make a few ruble. We have been building this website for four long years and it is finally getting somewhere. Other websites copy our content every day, that is not nice but it is the internet, but none goes as far as the stealing-content website Carnewschina.ru, stealing everything.

All their content is our content!

The situation reminds us of a problem we had with CarBuzz in 2012. They have since changed their ways for the better. Let’s hope that happens again this time, some time.

So I will ask once more, and I know they will read this: Carnewschina.ru, stop stealing our content, create your own website, and be good.

Update:

They have added link-backs in two articles (example), directing to our homepage, looking like this:

That orange strike-trough thingy is the link. Well thanks then!

Update 2:

The are adding more stolen content articles without any link as I write these very words. We have decided to inform their advertisers, and then much more.

If you, dear reader, want to help us, please leave a kind message on their contact form (scroll down a bit).

Don’t get too mad about it Tycho. They are just a bunch of low life thieves, not even worth mentioning.

Over the years, your site has gained much respect and your articles are frequently quoted. These pirates are annoying to your business, but they can only add to your reputation as a source of China auto news. They will hear from me!

Respect! This makes the internet go bad. Get them Tycho! Go for the KiLL! I once had a website on Indie movies. After three years I had about 10.000 unique a month. It was then when the stealing started. Not one site, bit like a hundred. Some based in the US, but most in… Russia. Yes Russia! In the end I deleted my own site completely just to screw them back. Sure they ‘d like that, but I cried. Really cried. Shit people. Get a life.

Carnewschina.RU seems to be very unsucsessful project – no visitors, no advert, ugly fonts. Wait for a little and it will die

It’s sites like Carnewschina.RU that ruin the internet for the rest of us. I’ve based some of my own articles on some of the incredible things Tycho and the gang at CarNewsChina have posted – ALWAYS giving full credit to my source because it’s the right thing to do.

its pity. but in fact you cant do anything (((
    domain zone Ru – russia
but web site registered in Ukraine
but no legal goverment in Ukraine now
if you can prove your copyrights for russian autorites you can block those web site in Russia (web site of person incharge http://rkn.gov.ru/ )

Tycho, sorry to hear about the pirates. While it can be seem as a nice form of flattery, I know how much work you put into this awesome site. I wish the best outcome for this site and hope that the other site changes their ways or gives up. I know you have a very strong following and we will stand united behind you, revving up our engines for China!

now you make free advertisement of that russian site. that’s cool for them 🙂

  15. sirsteven- August 20, 2014 Reply

I wouldn’t worry too much. Google’s SEO bots will figure who’s the impostor.

Chinese blatantly copy car designs from Europeans. There seems to be no law governing this blatant rip off that is happening. This seems to be a new trend 🙂

Enjoy the adulation and keep pressurizing them to give you due credit.

In the same manner, keep exposing the copy cat business that the companies in China are undertaking and educate the people.

That’s awful! Russia should know better. Anyway I adore your site, Tycho – keep up the good work!
